IOTA are an alternative rock band from Bristol, UK. Formed in 2017, IOTA aim to encapsulate you into their hypnotic yet high energy performances. Capturing their audience in a melancholic state of euphoria and aggression, IOTA uses reverb-soaked guitars contrasted with hard-hitting distortion creating a unique and dynamic sound.
Sometimes you can tell from the first listen that there's a spark behind a band – and it's this spark which is helping five-piece band IOTA to propel into Bristol's ever-changing musical landscape. Over the last 6 months, IOTA have grasped every opportunity to showcase their talent, from directing their own videos and photoshoots, to organising and promoting their own headline shows.
As well as this, the band have gained a reputation for high energy performances, with a sound turbulent enough to get crowds fired up, yet they don't take themselves too seriously. - Dionne Myrianthous for Loot Vintage.
However, after Bristol rockers IOTA’s headline gig at The Crofters Rights, the word’s meaning totally flipped. With a thundering rhythm section, aggressive-yet-dreamy guitars, and vocals full of grit and conviction, IOTA are the opposite of ‘something very small’. - Emily Engleheart for Undercover Groupie.

Beauty can emerge from the most chaotic places - this is something singer Bernadette Dales and guitarist Mike Hukins know very well. During their decade long friendship they have stitched together their disparate and contradictory influences to form rock music that is at once wild, vulnerable and volatile. Their opposition is a clear influence in their latest collection of songs, which deal with nostalgia, destruction, and the hardest kinds of relationship.
The pair began MOLLYANNA as a duo in 2016, but since then, with the help of bassist Joshua Roberts and drummer Laura Moakes, they have developed into an alt-rock band unlike any other. Their music is for the outsiders - those on the fringes with a story to tell.
After releasing their debut EP Ghosts in 2016 to high acclaim, MOLLYANNA are long overdue a follow up with their new band mates. The quartet are currently in the studio working on their new record, due to be released in Autumn 2019.
Raw, distorted guitars meet gritty bass and powerful vocals - MOLLYANNA are dark, dramatic and uncompromising.
A heavy sound and energetic performances make for an unforgettable live show.
Tickets available from mollyanna.bigcartel.com or from any of the bands direct.

During their decade long friendship, singer Bernadette Dales and guitarist Mike Hukins have stitched together their disparate and contradictory influences to form rock music that is at once wild, vulnerable and volatile. The pair began MOLLYANNA as a duo in 2016, but since then, with the help of bassist Joshua Roberts and drummer Laura Moakes, they have grown into a courageous alt-rock band unlike any other. Their music is for the outsiders - those on the fringes with a story to tell. This courage shines through in the success of their pre-order campaign, sold out home-town shows and festival appearances.
“We’re not the average angry straight man rock band,” Bernadette says. “We're an angry feminine queer nerdy rock band instead. And I love that. There’s room for so many voices in rock music and I’m really grateful for the platform we have to share ours.”
In May 2019 the band launched their first ever crowdfunding campaign to help them cover the costs of making the record. ‘We’ve got 7 tracks, a string section and some incredible film-makers on board - this is the most ambitious project we’ve ever been a part of.”
